Oyo State, BOI and CBN-EDCsw flag off ‘OyoABLE’ Program

The Oyo State commissioner for Youth and Sports, Barr. Abayomi Oke was on Tuesday 25th April at the CBN-Entrepreneurship Development Centre (EDC), Samonda to flag off the ‘OyoAble’ Training. The commissioner, along with other delegates from the Oyo state government were received at the Entrepreneurship Development Centre by the Project Director, Dr. Olumide Ajayi who lauded the initiative put together by the put together by the Oyo State government and the Bank of Industry. Dr. Ajayi stressed that the best way to save the Nation’s dwindling economy is for everyone to be exposed to entrepreneurship.

The commissioner while addressing the first set of participants at the training, congratulated them and further assured them that the government is fully behind the program which will run for 5 weeks. He also advised them to take the training seriously as the government is watching with keen interest in a bid to identify those who will stand out to be eligible for loans, grants and other benefits form the highest authority. Barr. Oke also informed the participants their registration fees would be covered by the government while a refund would be made to those that already paid, this information was pleasantly received by the excited trainees.

Dr. Ajayi while giving a vote of thanks on behalf of the EDC team further thanked the Oyo state government and admonished the participants to ensure that they complete their business plans after the program as this is the minimum criteria for certification and other benefits. The ‘OyoAble’ which is shortened form for ‘Oyo Ajumose Business Leadership & Entrepreneurship youth program’. It is targeted at empowering the youths and other entrepreneurs who are either Oyo state indigenes or reside in the state with credible entrepreneurial skills amongst other benefits. The initiative is the brainchild of a partnership between The Oyo State Government, Bank of Industry and CBN- Entrepreneurship Development Centre Southwest.
